In Conversation: Discovering Vivian Maier
On opening night of “Vivian Maier: Unseen Work,” our retrospective exhibition exploring the late artist’s uncovered photography, we were joined by John Maloof, the first person to bring Maier’s work into the public eye; Anne Morin, Director of diChroma photography; and renowned gallery owner Howard Greenberg, moderated by the distinguished street photographer, Matt Stuart, to explore the enduring legacy of Maier.

Not sure, his cause of death. May he RIP 🙏 How ironic, he speaks of Lisa Lyon, who died this month, September 2023 of cancer. RIP Lisa, too 😢 ❤

Went back in July, mindblowing would be an understatement, left feeling weird, sad, but inspired and amazed at the power of photography. I started my photography journey after this.
This is profoundly beautified whilst also being sad or disturbing. I like the intent of setting the animal-free in spiritual, new life, born out of the fire and the poignant images created from that journey. I like this, even the haunting feeling it evokes, especially as we also live in a world that is changing and on a journey of oblivion or rebirth...
Sick visuals! If only they were represented more during the live shows it sucks bcs almost all them time the visuals are "ON" it's during breaks of the tracks but on drop it is just a dark screen... really sad bcs that visual during Greyhound break for instance is just WOW

I wish and hope, one day, this man to make visuals like SHM's at their shows in Stockholm and (oh yeah) Miami. The visuals, especially for their ID's from Miami, was... damn, the most beautiful thing I ever saw. That was unbelievable. I, just like SHM, got something "dark" inside. We have a lot of familiar things. So one day... I hope to have the same exhibition. That would be the most incredible thing I ever did. Thank you Fotografiska for the chance to see this beautiful thing. Hopefully, see you soon again.
